The Travel Agent Next Door has selected Pencils For Kids as our official charity partner.

In 2016 Robin Mednick, the President and Executive Director of Pencils For Kids was the Key Note Speaker at our annual conference.

Speaking to a room full of travel agents, Robin recounted the heart warming story of how Pencils For Kids began. As her story unfurled, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Moved by her incredible journey and all the work Robin and her team have contributed to the children of Libore, Niger, The Travel Agent Next Door agents decided this was a cause they wanted to support.

“By providing classroom supplies, programs, libraries and schools to communities in need, Pencils for Kids works to create a world in which all children have the opportunity for an education.”

Pencils for Kids has developed a two part approach.

First they work with the community to directly fund education-related projects like Schools, Scholarships for Girls, Sewing Centres, or programs like Farmers of the Future.

Second they approach organizations who have expertise in other areas beyond education, like sport and health, and invite them to bring their talents to the same community.
